Ready lawn project completed by Pristine Exteriors in West Auckland

Ready lawn, West Auckland

Premium instant turf laid over a properly prepared soil base, for a usable lawn in a couple of days.

What is covered

Turf laid straight onto clay will not survive

Clay suffocates roots and holds water. Existing weed networks get sprayed out, poor soil is excavated to a clean sub grade, then 50mm to 100mm of free draining sandy loam is imported and screeded. The base gets mechanically compacted and hand screeded so there are no dips holding water.

Turf chosen for the section, not the truck

Premium tall fescue holds a deep green through winter and copes with shade, which suits most residential lawns. NZ couch and fine turf blends are heat tolerant and take heavy traffic from kids and dogs in full sun.

From $120 per m2. Indicative and excluding GST. The fixed price comes after an on site measure. See full pricing.

Common questions

How long does it take?

Most residential installs are done in 1 to 2 days, including excavation, soil, levelling and laying.

When can we walk on it?

Keep heavy traffic and pets off for the first 2 to 3 weeks while the roots knit in. Light steps to move a sprinkler after a few days are fine.

How do I look after it?

Water daily for the first two weeks, twice daily in warm weather, until the roots lock in. After that it goes back to normal deep watering and mowing.
